David C. Fletcher, 73, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, September 25, 2019.
He was born on May 8, 1946, in Frankford, WV.
He graduated from Glenville State and West Virginia University. He was an educator and coach for over 35 years before retiring from Parkersburg High School. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, hunting, and his relationships with his church and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Connie Fletcher; their daughter, Kelli Cochran; and his parents, Charles and Nellie Fletcher.
He is survived by his children, Stacey Bryant (Tony) of Rural Hall, NC, and Jon Fletcher (Staci) of Pickerington, OH; son-in-law, Ryan Cochran (Jessica) of Lubeck, WV; and his grandchildren, Madison, Cole, Morgan, Allison, Tyler, Drew and Brody. He is also survived by his siblings, James Fletcher and Elizabeth Banton.
A celebration of his life was held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Parkersburg, with Pastor Adam Paff officiating. Burial followed at the Sunset Memory Gardens.
Visitation with family and friends was held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at the funeral home.
