John Douglas Kelley passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, WV.
He was born on July 23, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late John Campbell and Sarah Ruth Kelley.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served two tours in Vietnam. He worked many years as a school counselor and loved to sing. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend, with an unswerving dedication to his faith and church family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Neal Kelley.
He is survived by his daughters, Caroline Ormandy and son-in-law, Brandon Ormandy of Ronceverte, WV, and Margaret (Maggie) Connard and son-in-law, Tom Connard of San Francisco, CA; and grandchildren Ryan, Lauren, and Megan Lindsey, and Quinn Connard.
A viewing will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at the Rhema Christian Center in Lewisburg. Interment will follow at the Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations of sympathy be made to the Celebrate Recovery program at the Rhema Christian Center.
