George “Bud” S. Geyer, 87, of Hudson, FL, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2019.
George was born in Renick, WV, to Russell and Susie Geyer on October 12, 1931, and was of the Christian faith.
George graduated from Berea College in Kentucky as an agriculture major, then joined the Army in 1954, where he served as a food inspector while stationed in Germany. After leaving the service, George went on to earn his master’s degree in public health at the University of Michigan. He was employed by the Oakland County Health Department as a sanitarian for many years, until his retirement.
George is predeceased by his first wife, Margaret; his parents, Russell and Susie (Shisler) Geyer; sisters, Mary Pearl Compton and June Hill; and brothers, Russell Hill Geyer and Thomas Hill Geyer.
Survivors include his loving wife, Shirley Jean Geyer; children, Susan Weedall (Michael) of Portland, OR, David Geyer (Carrie) of Eaton Rapids, MI, Karen Blaine (David) of Clarkston, MI, and Steven Geyer (Ban) of San Francisco, CO; his sisters, Betty Penrod and Patricia Tomlinson of Lewisburg, WV; cousins, Linda Spencer and Brenda Spencer of Lewisburg, and Elizabeth Riley of Pennsylvania; nieces, Rosalyn Carper, Debbie Van Pelt, Donna Kreibel, and Kimberly Hill of Virginia, and Dana Pfister of PA; stepchildren, Al Watson, Katherine Watson, and April Jacobs; grandchildren Scott, Ryan, Josh, and Daniel; and great-grandchildren Tran and Van.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the Grace Memorial Funeral Home in Hudson.
