Dorris Ray “Boots” Hylton, 78, of Lewisburg, WV, formerly of Gap Mills, WV, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019.
Born August 21, 1940, at Hollywood, WV, he was the son of Dewey Kyle “D.K.” and Clarice Whitlock Hylton.
Boots was a member of the Union Church of God. He was retired from the WV Department of Transportation.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former spouse and lifelong friend, Freda Adams Hylton; sister, Gladys Hylton; brothers, Kenneth (Alma), Eugene, and Cecil Hylton; and sister-in-law, Ada Mae “Asie” Adams.
Survivors include his daughter, with whom he made his home, Kimberly Gilkeson (Doug) of Lewisburg, WV; brothers, Marvin Hylton of Gap Mills, Bill Hylton (Mary Evelyn), and Dennis Hylton (Donna), all of Hollywood; sisters, Gracie Hylton of Hollywood and Faye Skripak (Richard) of Vero Beach, FL; grandchildren, Micah Gilkeson of Princeton, WV, Meshach Gilkeson (Katlin), Melish Gilkeson, and Malaysia Gilkeson, all of Lewisburg; great-grandchildren, Haiden, Kailaini, Rylan, Holden, Kamdrix and Hunston; sister-in-law, Connie Pettry of Lewisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV, 24901. Burial will follow in the Hollywood Cemetery in Hollywood.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
