The Central Greenbrier and Western Greenbrier Little League All-Star teams are on cruise control at the moment.

On the western end, the 12-U team shutout Hinton in their first game of the tournament after multiple hit games from Tayt Martin, Lane Bevins, Brady Thymius, and Hunter Tincher. Tincher also added two RBIs.

Bevins took the victory on the mound as he and Tincher each struck out every batter they faced in 1.1 innings. Eli Redden and Thymius also pitched well and contributed to the 4-inning no-hitter. Western Greenbrier 12-U will face Princeton this Thursday in Beckley at 8:00 PM.

Then, on Saturday, June 22, Western Greenbrier headed to Beckley in front of a large crowd and defeated Fayetteville 12-2 in another shortened 4-inning contest.

Bevins had two hits and two RBIs and Dawson Holliday had a double, scored twice, and knocked in two runs. Kayden Hinkle had a huge day on the mound with 11 strikeouts in four innings.

Back on the eastern side of the county, the 10-U team has ripped off three wins in a row and are playing Sunday, June 23 at 2:00 PM in Sophia vs. Beckley. In their most recent victory, a 9-2 decision over Midland Trail, Zayden W. was 2-3 with a run scored and three RBIs. Three pitchers also had good performances in Garrett W (3 IP, 3 H, ER, 3 Ks), Zander R (2.1 IP, 2 H, ER, 3 Ks) and Grayson K (0.2 IP, K).

In the 12-U division, Central Greenbrier made easy work in three innings of the Bluefield all-stars on Saturday. Battling the 90+ degree weather under the sun, CG was unfazed in every way and got a no-hit pitching performance in the process.

Peyton Ervin went 3-3 with three runs, a homerun, and five RBIs. Michael Booth pulled off double duty and crushed two homers, had six RBIs, and struck out all six batters on the mound in just two innings of work. Carter Huffman also homered and in his one inning of work on the mound, struck out all three batters he faced.

Central Greenbrier 12-U moves on to face Shady Spring–who beat Trap Hill– this Thursday, June 27 in Beckley at 8:00 PM.
