The family of Myra L. Moss, formerly Myra L. Scott, of Lewisburg, WV, age 89, of Warrenton, VA, would like to thank all family and friends for their love of their sweet mom, who has gone to be with the Lord as of Tuesday, February 26, 2019.
She was in hospice care at the Fauquier Health and Rehabilitation Center in Warrenton at the time of her passing.
Myra was born on July 28, 1929, to Stanley Eskew and Geneva Holliday in Fayette County, WV.
Myra was an RN, educated at Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, WV. She had 29 years of her career at The Greenbrier hotel’s diagnostic clinic in White Sulphur Springs, WV. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines, and traveled with them as she performed, singing as an alto.
She loved to sing. She was a member of the Shuck Memorial Baptist Church and Old Stone Presbyterian Church, both in Lewisburg, and Greenbrier Baptist Church in Ronceverte, WV.
Myra is predeceased by her second husband, M.T. Moss of Fairlea, WV, as of March 2005.
She is survived by four children, Sheri Clark (David) of Washington, NC, Jennean Scott of Bluefield, WV, Deanne Scott of Pineville, WV, and Alecia Towne (Rick) of Warrenton; two grandchildren, Jevin Scott of Pearisburg, VA and Rachel Towne of Warrenton; first husband, Richard Scott of Washington; and several first cousins.
There will be a funeral service on Monday, March 4, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the McCraw Funeral Home Chapel in Lewisburg, with Pastor Tim Dillon officiating. A graveside service at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg will immediately follow. A reception for family and friends of Myra will be at 2 p.m. at the Greenbrier Baptist Church on Morgan Hollow Road in Ronceverte.
The viewing will be on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at the McCraw Funeral Home, 150 Courtney Dr., Lewisburg, WV, 24901, from 6-8 p.m.
