FAIRLEA- In the early morning hours of Friday, June 14, the WVSSAC released their all-state baseball teams for Class AAA.
The Greenbrier East Spartans placed three players–Gavin Bennett, Gabe Patton, and Peyton DeHaven– on the honorable mention list.
All three players were seniors this past season for the Spartans and each one is continuing their playing careers at the next level. Bennett signed with Potomac State, DeHaven with Concord, and Patton is going to North Carolina to play for Barton College.
All three (along with former Greenbrier West player Dale Boone) are also representing Greenbrier County on the Beckley Post 32 summer league team. So far, the team is 4-0 on the young season.

Bennett- .376, 7 doubles, triple, HR, 31 RBIs– 58.1 IP, 64 Ks, 3.48 ERA
Patton- .283, 5 doubles, HR, 12 RBIs, 22 runs scored– 46 IP, 35 Ks, 3.65 ERA
DeHaven- .293, 6 doubles, 8 RBIs, 26 runs
Stats w/ Post 32 (through 4 games)
Bennett- triple, 2 RBIs– 7 IP, 11 Ks, 1-0
Patton- 2 RBIs, 4 runs
DeHaven- 3 runs scored
