Ray F. “Frank” Boggs, age 96, of Second Creek, WV, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Greenbrier Health Care Center at Ronceverte, WV.
Born October 26, 1922, at Butler Mountain in Frankford, WV, he was the son of Robert “Buzz” and Rhoda Neil Boggs.
Frank was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. He was self-employed, and was a hard worker all of his life. Frank did everything from farming and painting, to driving a truck and a taxi cab. He also attended the Union Church of God in Union, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Sidney “Bobby” Boggs; a step-son, Bobby Lewis Boggs; four brothers, Lee, Sidney, Henry, and Buster Boggs; and five sisters, Ada, Ida, Vada, Anna, and Essie Boggs.
Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Alma Saunders Boggs of Second Creek; one daughter, Tammy Williams of Frankford; three stepdaughters, Sharon Beasley of Union, Helen Burns (Tommy) of Sinks Grove, WV, and Cathy Smith (Mark) of Lewisburg, WV; four stepsons, Dale Boggs (Debbie) of Lewisburg, Roger Boggs (and companion, Terry Rambolt) of Organ Cave, WV, Billy Joe Boggs (Lori) of Second Creek, and Wayne Boggs (Nancy) of Hollywood, WV; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at the Carlisle Cemetery in Hollywood, with Pastor Jim Rogers, Freddy Bostic, and Mark Smith officiating.
Friends may call from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home in Union.
Roger Boggs, Carlton Weikle, Wayne Boggs, Dwayne Boggs, Mark Smith, Billy Joe Boggs, and Dale Boggs will serve as pallbearers.
