Governor Jim Justice held a press conference yesterday afternoon, January 29, to address his stance on SB 451, the omnibus education reform bill introduced last week in the state Senate. The bill deals with numerous changes to the state’s education system, including highly contentious items such as paycheck protection and the introduction of charter schools.
Justice began the conference by noting that the state and its educators went through a significant difficulty with the work stoppage in February 2018, which finally ended with the passage of a pay raise for all state employees and steps toward fixing PEIA.
