Theda Gray Scott Sizemore

Theda Gray Scott Sizemore, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, died surrounded by her family April 21, 2024, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea, WV.

Born May 5, 1939, she was the daughter of Mabel Scott and was raised by her beloved grandmother, Elizabeth Jane (Lizzie Jane) Cochran Scott.

Theda was married to Samuel (Sammy) Sizemore, who predeceased her. She was also pre-deceased by her daughters, Naomi Sizemore Kincaid and Lottie Sizemore; sisters, Stella Scott Sizemore and Elizabeth Scott Tincher; brothers, Henry and Clyde Scott; stepchildren, Samuel (Ray) Sizemore, Dorothy Sizemore Hunter, Don Sizemore, and Dale Sizemore; as well as her best friend, Phyllis Oscar.

Theda, known as Granny to many, is survived by her sons, James (and Belinda) Sizemore of Alderson and Tucker (and Debbie) Sizemore of Williamsburg; daughters, Lesa Fitzgerald of Clintonville, Delta Sizemore (and Dwayne) of Williamsburg, and Jenny Sizemore (and Jason) of Martinsville, VA; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren and numerous step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Stidom Nickell of Caldwell; her brother, Lee Stidom of Trout; her beloved dog, Copper; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to thank Nathan Sams, Dr. Debra Sams, and the ICU nurses at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, with special thanks to ICU nurses, Meghan and Stephanie.

Services will be Saturday, April 27 at 1 p.m. at the Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with visitation beginning at noon. Burial will be at New Salem Church in Williamsburg with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Friends and family are encouraged to come and share stories, beginning at 1 p.m..
