FAIRLEA- Greenbrier East softball player Taylor Boswell committed to the University of Charleston back in October of 2023 and on Monday night, March 4, she made it official as she signed her letter of intent on the dotted line to continue her playing career on the diamond with the Cougars next year.
Boswell was surrounded by numerous coaches, friends, family, and teammates for her ceremony.
The shortstop now can focus on her upcoming senior season with the distraction that recruiting can provide, well behind her.
Last season, Boswell hit .425 with five home runs and 40 RBIs and was named second team all-state.
Also, a former basketball and volleyball competitor, Boswell reiterated that the home feel of the Charleston campus was a big factor in not only picking the school but sticking with her decision through the process.
“The atmosphere and coaching staff made me feel at home,” she said.
There is always a lot to learn and adjust to when moving to the next level and Boswell is already looking forward to the challenges and opportunities it will bring.
“The competition and learning new things,” Boswell said when asked what she was looking forward to.
“Also, making new friendships,” she concluded.
Boswell and her 2024 Spartan teammates will make their season debut on March 14 at home against Bluefield.
