GREENBRIER COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – Two Greenbrier West High School students, Hunter Gwinn and Teagan Mandeville, were recently accepted into the Marshall University High School Honor Band Festival. The festival takes place Feb. 21-23.
The purpose of the Honor Band Festival is to recognize high school musician’s achievements. Additionally, it provides the chosen musicians with opportunities to work with conductors from across the country.
According to an announcement from Greenbrier County Schools, the Honor Band Festival includes, “workshops and master classes with world-renowned musicians, performances by Marshall Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band, and demonstrations by student ensembles.” To conclude the event, the Wind Symphony, the Symphony Band and the Concert Band will perform a concert.
