RICHWOOD W.Va. (WVDN) – Are you ready for an adventure that not only thrills but also gives back to the community? The “Going Topless on the Hellbender 2024” event invites all off-roading enthusiasts to take their 4WD and AWD vehicles for an exhilarating guided tour while supporting a noble cause.

Taking place from May 24-26, 2024, this unique off-road and overland fundraiser is the perfect opportunity for drivers to explore rough terrains with the top down and hearts full. The Children’s Home Society of West Virginia will be the primary benefactor of this event, ensuring that your participation directly aids children and families in need.

Backroads of Appalachia, The WV Hellbender, and the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia have come together to produce this event, promising an experience filled with camaraderie and outdoor adventure. Starting at Camp Splinter near Richwood, WV, participants are invited to drive heart-pumping trails in one of the most scenic areas of Appalachia.

Registration is $100 per vehicle/driver and $30 for each additional passenger. A special rate of $30 is available for those who wish to join the guided tour and dinner without the overnight camping.

Your adventure includes:

– Exciting guided tours along the 2024 trails.

– An exclusive event T-shirt.

– The chance to bond over a campfire with two nights of overnight camping.

– A Saturday night dinner alongside a live auction—an evening energized with the beats of DJ Robert Stowers.

– A hearty breakfast on  Saturday and Sunday mornings to replenish your adventurer’s spirit.

Additionally, the event kicks off with a Friday night meet and greet dinner at the Moose Lodge in Richwood, WV, with proceeds supporting their Annual Children’s Christmas party.

“Going Topless on the Hellbender 2024” is not just a weekend event; it’s an opportunity to create memories, challenge your off-roading skills, and rally around a charitable cause. With roaring engines and open hearts, participants will leave a lasting impact on the lives of children supported by the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia.

Don’t miss out on the chance to take part in an adrenaline-fueled weekend that blends the thrill of exploration with the joy of giving. Book your spot, roll down your top, and gear up for a journey that makes a difference! Only 100 vehicle spots are available so visit www.childhswv.org, click on News and Events, select the “Going Topless on the Hellbender 2024” event and register today! Then just click on the donate button to pay the registration fee through PayPal.
