WEST VIRGINIA (WVDN) – New River Community and Technical College instructor and master artist Belinda Anderson will hold a three-week creative writing class titled “Life Stories” beginning Thursday, Feb. 8, via audio conference call.
Life’s stories are itching to be written, awaiting your reflections on life’s path and where it’s headed. This workshop offers techniques to help you mine the rich veins of memory. You can attend the class with an internet conference call connection, but you can also attend with your landline telephone. No high-speed internet is required – and no snow boots or mittens are needed to get to class. The class will be conducted through one-hour conference calls that will include lecture, time for questions, participant sharing, and group email follow-up as needed.
New River CTC Instructor Belinda Anderson said, “‘Everyone is original, talented and has something to say.’ Brenda Ueland wrote that in 1938, and that’s the message I bring to adult writing workshops.”
The “Life Stories” class is designed for both beginners and those already with a writing project underway and will meet at 10 a.m. Thursdays, beginning Feb. 8, and will meet for three weeks.
The cost to register for the class is $95, and the deadline is Jan. 25. Participants will be emailed the conference call number and access codes after registering for the class.
Anderson was named a Master Artist by the West Virginia Division of Culture and History. The author of four books also is on the first literary map of West Virginia, published by Fairmont State University.
