Rev. Kevin Lee Carpenter
Rev. Kevin Lee Carpenter, 63, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed Sunday, December 31, 2023, in The Peyton Hospice House, after a short battle with cancer.
Kevin was born on April 16, 1960, in New Haven, CT. He attended Richard Lee High School, New Haven, CT. He graduated from Liberty University with a degree in Christian ministry. He worked at The Greenbrier Resort as a server for 26 years. During this time, he had retail stores in White Sulphur Springs, Lewisburg, and Covington, VA. Kevin was pastor at Mt. Zion Baptist Church and continued pastoring at Who So Ever Will Let Them Come Missionary Baptist Church, until he passed.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parent’s mother, Evangelist Bertha Carpenter; father, Audrey Woodson; sister, Zona Carpenter; nephew, Dwayne Carpenter; maternal grandfather, Deacon Otis L. Carpenter; maternal grandmother, Pastor Irene M. Carpenter; uncles, Otis L. Carpenter, Harold Carpenter, Charles Carpenter, and Herman Carpenter; and aunt, Ethel Council.
Kevin is survived by daughters, Charron Carpenter and Carla Baxter; grandkids, Makayla Hickman and Makell Hickman, all of White Sulphur Springs, WV; aunt, Sherbdean Woodson Clark of Beckley, WV; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral service will be 12 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Rhema Christian Center, 3584 Davis Stuart Rd., Lewisburg, with Rev. Greg E. Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg.
Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family, one-hour prior.
