FAIRLEA, WV- The Coalfield Conference released their all-conference football teams on Monday evening and the Greenbrier East Spartans were well represented for Class AAA.
On offense, Grant Burdette was named to the first team as a tight end, while Aiden Cole made the first team as an offensive lineman. Brody Hamric and Nate Suttle were chosen to the first team as well as utility players.
Burdette led East this year with 39 catches for 515 yards and two TDs. Cole led a line that helped pave the way for 107 rush yards per game, and Hamric (1,537 pass yds, 18 total TDs) and Suttle (376 rush yds, 248 rec., 4 TDs) manned the backfield for the Spartans this season.
Carter Hamilton landed on the defensive first team after leading the Spartans in tackles with 72. He was the only East player named on defense, but Kaden Stone, Abram Wickline, and Weston Pence all received special honorable mention honors. Pence finished second to Hamilton in total tackles with 71 and Stone led the team in receiving touchdowns with five and was third on the team with 41 tackles. Wickline had a team-leading two interceptions and on offense, caught 33 passes for 435 yards and three TDs.
