Emily JoAnn Perdue Fogus

Emily JoAnn Perdue Fogus, 94, of Frankford, passed away November 15, 2023, at the Peyton Hospice House.

She was born September 5, 1929, to the late Kenneth and Weston Perdue.

In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Darrell Lee Fogus; infant child, Bonnie; brothers, Kenneth Perdue Jr., Donnie Perdue, and Michael Perdue; sisters, Barbara “Bobby” Brown and Marion “Pott” Bailey; sons-in-law, Bruce Cadle and Bruce Callison.

JoAnn is survived by nine children: Sue Cadle of Smoot, Stephanie O’Brien (Albert) of Waynesboro, Pete Fogus (Judy) of Frankford, Mike Fogus of Frankford, Lisa Jackson (Brad) of Waynesboro, Chris Fogus of Frankford, Tina Owens (Chuck) of Caldwell, John Fogus (Karen) of Frankford, and Jill Callison of Renick. JoAnn is a loving grandma to 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

JoAnn was a member of Enon Baptist Church of Frankford. She worked at Kellwood for many years. She loved taking care of her family. She spent many summer days in the garden and canning vegetables. She was a great cook and always had enough food to feed an army.

She suffered from Alzheimer’s and dementia for many years. The family helped care for her, along with Vicky Blankenship and Missy Taylor. A special thanks to her granddaughter, Sarah Callison, for all her extra love and care.

A special thanks to Peyton Hospice House and to all the nurses and staff.

Funeral services were graveside only at 12 noon, November 20, 2023 at Enon Baptist Church in Frankford, WV, with Pastor Steve Barnette officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at Enon Baptist Church.
