CHARMCO- The Greenbrier West Cavaliers are now one game away from a perfect season after defeating the Midland Trail Patriots 63-14 on Friday night, Oct. 27 on senior night.
A bigger story than that actual win may be that the Cavs (9-0) allowed 14 points which snapped their 6-game streak of allowing single digit points over that span (8).
Jake Pate, who has been spectacular this year, ran 22 times for 232 yards with two touchdowns. Cole Vandall threw three touchdown passes for the fifth straight game and finished 9-of-14 for 219 yards. His touchdown tosses went to Ethan Holliday, Colten Dunbar and Tucker Lilly.
Holliday, Marcus Adkins, and Trent Parker each added rushing touchdowns. Hayden Ridgeway went 9-of-9 on extra points and set a new school record with that feat. Holliday was also a standout on the defensive side of the football.
A detailed recap will be online soon from our very own Michael Goddard.
