James Monroe XC Teams Headed to States

The James Monroe boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams both qualified for the state tournament on Thursday, October 19 by finishing in second place in their respective divisions. It is the first time in school history that both teams qualified.

Individually, the Mavericks had six individual runners qualify as well. Those six and their times are listed below:

GIRLS:

2. Katie Collins- 21:38.7

4. Abby Dixon- 22:17.7

6. Kynzie Taylor- 22:58.7

7. Gracie Tooze- 23:28.6

 

BOYS:

9. Wyatt Lilly- 19:44.6

10. Eli Broyles- 20:25.3

 

Per the Monroe County XC social media page, William Jackson (20:41.2) received a medal for 11th place and Bryceson Whitt (21:23.8) medaled in 15th place.

Natalie Broyles (32:17.5), Kinleigh Bradley (34:24.2), and Shane Arthur (23:51.2) rounded out the team.
