Evelyn Dorene Parker Cales, 60, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed into our Lord’s hands on Saturday, January 27, 2018, after a long illness.
Born December 31, 1957, in Bedford, VA, she was the daughter of Abner & Helen Parker.
Evelyn loved the simple things in life, like gardening, pets, wildlife, and children, which she had around her all her life. Although her sickness has taken her away, it cannot take the sweet memories of her family’s life with her. She will be missed by all she touched, but never forgotten by any.
She was preceded in death by her father, Abner Parker; sister, Pam Schoensee; brother, Roger Parker; and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Quick.
Survivors include her mother, Helen Parker of White Sulphur Springs; husband of 34 years, Melvin R. Cales of White Sulphur Springs; daughters, Melissa Pritt of Covington, VA, and Crystal Bretz, also of Covington; ten grandchildren, Tanesha, Keiara, Arieanna, Mark Albert, Abigale, Kara, Phillip, Jeremiah, Jazmine, and Marcus; and five great-grandchildren, Amber-lynn, John, Nikara, Zayden and Kai.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs, with Pastor Gene Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, WV.
Friends and family will be received from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, at the funeral home in White Sulphur Springs.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 319 W. Washington St., Charleston, WV 25302 or to White Sulphur Springs EMS.
