James Marion “Jim” Hefner Sr., 85, of Renick, WV, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at his home.
Born October 10, 1932, at Henning, WV, he was the son of Lee Roy and Mary L. Burress Hefner.
Jim had worked as a plumber most of his life and was a member of the Renick Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Clifford Hefner; and sisters, Phyllis Krantz, Frankie McClelland, Sue Levelle and Ovalla Loudermilk; and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Hefner.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Gladys May Brown Hefner; sons, James Marion Hefner Jr., Jeffrey Hefner and wife, Elizabeth Ann, Randell Hefner and wife, Christy, and Douglas Hefner and wife, Jennifer, all of Yadkinville, NC; daughter Lutresia “T.C.” Johnston and husband, Donnie, of Renick, WV; brother, Roy Hefner and wife, Glenda, of Mullens, WV; sister, Patty Bailey and husband, Charles, of Beckley, WV; 10 grandchildren, Jacob, Devin, Joseph, Amanda, Brittany, Lane, Morgan, Andrew, Derrick and Jessica; six great-grandchildren, Ava, Isaac, Olivia, Emma, Hunter and Ryatt; several nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver, Vicky Blankenship.
Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, January 21, 2018, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV, with Pastor Steve Barnette officiating. Burial will follow in the Morningside Cemetery, Renick, WV.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the funeral home.
