Arneda June Henson

Arneda June Henson, 96, of Crawley, passed away peacefully Friday, September 8, 2023, at Seneca Trail Healthcare Center after a long illness.

Arneda was born May 9, 1927, at Rainelle and was the daughter of the late Cary R. and Margaret “Maggie” Loudermilk Goddard.

Arneda retired from Appalachian Electronic Instruments after more than 30 years. She had attended the Sunrise Chapel United Methodist Church at Clintonville. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends, gardening, crocheting, and listening to Southern Gospel music. 

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Acie L. Henson; and son-in-law, Donald L. Simon.

Survivors include her daughter, Judith Simon of Lewisburg; son, Dennis L. Henson and wife, Marlene, of Crawley; grandchildren, Lisa Sims of Port Charlotte, FL, and Erika Henson and husband, Matt Sisk, of Roanoke, VA; great-grandchildren, Madison Sims Eisenoff and husband, Josh, of Fort Myers, FL, Emily Sims, Bay City, TX, and Parker Sisk and Gwen Sisk, both Roanoke, VA; brother, Lee Goddard and wife, Woodie, of Bowling Green, OH; and many nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Seneca Trail Healthcare Center for the excellent care they provided our loved one.

Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Rick Keener officiating. Burial will follow at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
