RONCEVERTE W.Va. (WVDN) – Freedom AG & Energy Cooperative (FAE) will officially take ownership of Southern States in Ronceverte on Friday, Sept. 1. Ronceverte’s newest agriculturally themed business will officially open for business on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Freedom Ag and Energy plans to expand its outreach to customers through its new location. CEO Tim Maupin, former vice president of agriculture operations for Cargill Nutrition, says, “We are excited to welcome this new group of employees and customers to the Freedom Family. The Greenbrier Valley location has a long history of great customer service in an area that is steeped in agricultural history and significance to West Virginia.” Maupin adds that FAE is looking forward to building on that. FAE is perfectly aligned to support this location’s strong customer base focusing on bulk feed and fertilizer, farm supplies and bagged feed and minerals.
FAE was founded in 2022 when four local independent cooperatives decided to merge to better build their agriculture and retail businesses, while expanding their energy offerings, including petroleum and propane. FAE will continue a strong commitment to serving its local communities, including individual farmers, homeowners and local businesses.
FAE’s mission is to be a key provider of agricultural products to the communities it serves. The Ronceverte location, 608 Monroe Avenue, will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and, Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
