Sallie B. Goodwin, 92, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 24, 2017, at the Greenbrier Manor in Lewisburg.
Sallie was born on July 2, 1925, in Renick, WV, to Robert Guy and Addie Caraway Beard.
She was a member of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church. She worked as a merchandise manager for the federal prison in Alderson, WV, for many years, where she retired. She was also a volunteer for the Ronceverte Little League concession stand for the Greenbrier Band Boosters stand at the State Fair of West Virginia, and she cooked for the concession stand at the Fairlea Fire Department for bingo.
In addition to her parents, Sallie is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Goodwin; and sisters, Dorothy Hardiman, Nellie Knight, and Emma Hunter Newton.
Survivors include daughters, Marilyn Hylton (Patrick) of Lewisburg and Lora Ingalsbee (Chuck) of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Tom Hylton (Tammy), Lee Hylton (Valerie), Tara Carter (Chris), and Todd Hibbert Ingalsbee; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, at 1 PM with Pastor Ike Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg.
