FAIRLEA (WVDN) – Country music breakout artist Lainey Wilson is set to take the stage at the State Fair of West Virginia. Her concert is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 14, at 8 p.m. Here are some fast facts and interesting info about Wilson to tide you over until the show.

Lainey Wilson, the rising star of country music, is making waves in the industry with her unique blend of traditional and modern country sounds. The Louisiana-born artist, known for her authentic storytelling and distinctive southern drawl, has quickly become a fan favorite in the country music scene.

Wilson, born in a small town in Louisiana, has been immersed in country music from a young age. Her love for the genre is evident in her music, which is heavily influenced by country legends like Dolly Parton and Hank Williams Jr.

Wilson’s journey to Nashville was not a straight path. She spent several years living in a camper trailer, working odd jobs to support her dream. Her persistence paid off when she was signed by Broken Bow Records in 2019.

Her debut album, “Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’,” was released in February 2021. The album, which features the hit single “Things a Man Oughta Know,” showcases Wilson’s knack for storytelling and her ability to blend traditional country sounds with contemporary themes.

“Things a Man Oughta Know,” a song that resonates with many for its heartfelt lyrics and catchy melody, has catapulted Wilson into the spotlight. It topped the Billboard Country Airplay chart, making Wilson one of the few female artists to achieve this feat in recent years.

Wilson’s music is characterized by her strong, soulful voice and her honest, relatable lyrics. She has a unique ability to tell stories through her songs, drawing on her own experiences and those of the people around her.

Despite her rising fame, Wilson remains grounded and true to her roots. She often speaks about her love for her hometown and the influence it has had on her music.

With her talent and authenticity, Wilson is making a significant impact on the country music scene. She is a testament to the power of perseverance and the importance of staying true to one’s roots.

As Lainey Wilson continues to make her mark in the country music industry, fans and critics alike eagerly anticipate what this rising star will do next.
