RONCEVERTE, W.Va. (WVDN) – A man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly became angry with his girlfriend for allegedly stealing drugs and then attempting to damage an air conditioner while trying to gain entry into a residence.
On July 24, the authorities received a domestic disturbance call from the Cedar Knoll Trailer Park, prompting State Police to respond to the scene. The officer’s reports indicate that John Michael Forrester Jr. was causing a disturbance and trying to destroy an air conditioner to gain access to a trailer.
Officers located Forrester walking along the road and proceeded to question him. Forrester reportedly admitted to yelling at his girlfriend for allegedly stealing drugs. He further informed the police that he had nowhere to spend the night and was hoping to be incarcerated. However, when the officers attempted to arrest him, Forrester reportedly resisted.
Witnesses at the scene recounted feeling afraid as the suspect yelled at them and attempted to forcibly detach the air conditioner from the window in a bid to enter the trailer.
Law enforcement officials assessed the window air unit’s value to be in the range of $150 to $300.
As a result of the incident, Forrester has been charged with two counts of domestic assault, destruction of property, and obstructing
