FAIRLEA (WVDN) – The sanctuary and rooms of the Fairlea Associate Reformed Presbyterian (ARP) Church in Ronceverte were filled with the happy sounds of children having fun and learning about the Bible during the final 4 evenings of June.
The Creative Arts Camp began each evening with a Bible lesson and fun games. Following were two class periods, during which children learned to use their artistic skills with clay, wool for felting, the ukulele, calligraphy and designing their own fireflies in a box.
The final evening saw all the families gathering for a potluck dinner. Preceding the meal, the group took the stage for a recitation of the Bible verse all the children had learned. Organizers noted, “it was recited enthusiastically.” Church families provided all the delicious food. Everyone enjoyed seeing their creations displayed, while a video of both stills and brief videos gave the parents the highlights of the creative work their children had experienced.
Plans are already underway for next year.
The Fairlea ARP Church is on Rt. 219 northbound (Seneca Trail S.), at 9364 Seneca Trail South, across the street from the main entrance to the Fairgrounds. Sunday service is at 11 a.m., and all are welcome.
