Norman Dwight Livesay
Norman Dwight Livesay, 80, of Lewisburg, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at his home in Rolling Hills Estates, in Lewisburg.
He was born July 14, 1942, in Grassy Meadows, WV, and was the son of the late Lawrence T. and Thelma (Cadle) Livesay.
Dwight was an active member and a deacon of the First Baptist Church of Fairlea. He held a Bachelor of Science degree from Concord College and a Masters degree from Appalachian State University. He had a doctorate degree in School Law from Virginia Tech.
He began working in 1964 in the Greenbrier County Schools as a teacher and a counselor, eventually serving as assistant superintendent and director of curriculum and instruction for 19 years. After retiring in 2006, Dwight continued his work as an educational consultant for the Greenbrier County Board of Education. His lifelong dedication and great love for others was felt throughout the community.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Joanne Marie Livesay.
Dwight leaves his son, Michael P. Livesay, wife, Kelli Anne, and granddaughter, Eliza of Denver, CO.
Funeral services for Dwight are scheduled for Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 1 p.m. at The First Baptist Church of Fairlea with Pastor Ron Miller officiating. Interment will follow at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville, WV.
The family will receive their friends from 12 p.m. until time of services at the church on Thursday.
