LEWISBURG, W.Va. – The Central Greenbrier Little League baseball teams hit the field at Hollowell Park this past weekend for their opening night on Friday and first games on Saturday.
On Friday, all the teams took the fields for the Little League pledge, a parade, the national anthem, and the traditional opening pitch. The minor Orioles then faced the minor Braves for the first official game of the season.
On Saturday, games began at 9 a.m. with the Union Minor Yankees against the Lewisburg minor Rockies. It was an all-day event as the last game started at 7 p.m. Crowds filled the stands and all points in between as another successful opening weekend is in the books.
It is a great time of year at Hollowell, as there will be some sort of event almost every night for the next couple of months.
