RONCEVERTE, W.Va. (WVDN) – A Ronceverte man is behind bars after a K-9 officer discovered drugs in his vehicle.
On Friday, March 17, Greenbrier County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on Timothy Delno Keen, 49, on Coffman Hill Road in the Ronceverte area of Greenbrier County, according to a release from the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office.
During this traffic stop, K-9 Layla was utilized to conduct an exterior sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive alert to her handler of possible illegal drugs inside the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the vehicle by deputies involved resulted in the discovery of several plastic baggies of suspected methamphetamine and heroin, along with digital scales, drug paraphernalia and approximately $1,000 in cash.
Based upon the discovery of those items and a separate investigation being conducted by the Greenbrier Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, Keen was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance and transported to the Southern Regional Jail. He is being held without bond.
Police say additional charges are forthcoming in reference to this investigation.
