June Boggs Lucas
On Sunday evening, the Lord welcomed one of his own into his arms, June Boggs Lucas, 87, of Ronceverte, WV.
She was born on June 23, 1935, at Second Creek, WV, the daughter of the late Leonard A. and Dennie R. Dowdy Boggs.
June was a wife and devoted mother of three; her children adored her. She loved to cook, take pictures, read her bible, and pray for the people she loved.
She was a former employee of A.B.B. & Bendix Corp. for over 27 years. She retired in 1997, and was a member of Second Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Margery Boggs, Della Bradley and Joanna Edds; brothers, Ray Boggs, Miles Boggs, Frank Boggs, Virgil Boggs, and Harding Boggs.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Charlie Lucas; three children, Regina Bunting (Keith) of Kannapolis, NC, Douglas Lucas or Ronceverte, and Joseph M. Lucas of Lewisburg; 3 grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah and Hannah, all of North Carolina; and two great-grandchildren of North Carolina.
Her family was truly blessed to have had her in their lives. She loved everybody, no matter what color, rich or poor; she was above all women, favored by God. God took a jewel from this earthly world and placed her in a place of peace and no pain.
