Our Wonderful Land Earth Day Celebration is back for a third year at Old World Libations near Greenville, West Virginia.
On April 22, all are invited to an afternoon of family-friendly, educational and fun activities and sessions.
From 1-6 p.m., attendees can participate in interactive stations to learn more about bees, outdoor recreation, growing their own plants and conservation.
There will be multiple interactive stations, including flower pressing, paleontology and creek ecology. Participants are encouraged to bring their fossils in for closer inspection by professionals. Past attendees enjoyed the wild edibles walk. There will be area experts on poultry, beekeeping, solar and composting presenting as part of the homesteading sessions that will occur at the top of every hour.
“We are excited to offer this free event for families and visitors to our region,” says Allison Tomlinson of WVU Extension. “Local makers and growers will be in our Vendor Village. Additionally, we have a sponsorship for free snacks to compliment the food and drink offerings provided by our hosts.”
Sponsors include Friends of Monroe, Inc., Monroe County Coalition for Children and Families, WVU Extension and Old World Libations.
This Earth Day event will take place at 3493 Greenville Road, Union, WV 24983. For questions, call 304-832-6811.
