FRankford Elementary physical education teacher Susan Anderson recently invited parents to attend gym class to learn about the archery program.
During the Feb. 23 class, Anderson went over how the students started by learning the safety rules, then moved to using a string bow before going to the real thing.
Parents got to see the students in action and learn about the different whistle commands.
This is an amazing program, and the kids really seem to enjoy it.
Anderson and her volunteer husband, Jim, are doing a great job with the archery program, says Title I reading teacher Jackie Williams.
The Andersons said it is amazing to see the improvements students have made, going from not even hitting the target to getting bulls eyes in a short amount of time.
“We would love to see this carry over to the middle school,” Williams said.
