LEWISBURG (WVDN) – Even though the Greenbrier East Spartans lost two games last weekend and show a record of just 10-8 on the season, they are still ranked inside the top 10 at No. 6 from the WVSSAC and in the new Associated Press poll.
The Spartans’ schedule has been nothing short of ridiculous, and the pollsters are showing respect to East for challenging themselves as much as they have.
East has played Shady Spring twice, South Charleston twice, Spring Mills twice, Cabell Midland, Huntington, Parkersburg South and Radford, Virginia. According to Meteonews, East has played the third toughest schedule in the state.
The Spartans will look to get back to their winning ways tonight, Tuesday, Feb. 14, for a Valentine’s Day matchup with Capital.
