This weekend, the State Fairgrounds are home to the West Virginia Wrestling Dual Team State Championship.
This event, endorsed by the WVSSAC and sponsored by West Virginia Wrestling Coaches Association, is the premier dual team championship in the state, says Greenbrier East wrestling coach Brian Miluk.
The top eight teams from around the state will be represented in both divisions, AAA and AA/A, for a total of 16 teams. Over 300 wrestlers will be competing, and organizers expect over 1,000 people from across West Virginia to attend this two-day event.

Competing AAA teams are University and Wheeling Park (Region 1), Spring Mills and Washington (Region 2), Woodrow Wilson and St. Albans (Region 3) and Parkersburg South and Cabell Midland (Region 4).
Competing AA/A teams are Fairmont Senior and Oak Glen (Region 1), Braxton County and Lewis County (Region 2), Herbert Hoover and Independence (Region 3) and Point Pleasant and Winfield (Region 4).
The tourney kicks off on Friday at 7 a.m. for AA/A teams when the doors open in the Underwood Building. Weigh-ins take place at 8 a.m. with breakfast and a guest speaker at 8:30 a.m.
The West Virginia Building will serve as the wrestling venue, and doors open at 9:30 a.m.
The AA/A schedule is as follows:
12 p.m., Round 1, state quarter finals,
1:30 p.m., Round 2, semifinals and consolation round,
3 p.m., Round 3, dual team state championship/placement matches, and
4:30 p.m., awards.
On Saturday, Feb. 4, AAA schools compete. At 7 a.m., doors open in the Underwood Building. Weigh-ins take place at 8 a.m. with breakfast and a guest speaker at 8:30 a.m.
