BECKLEY W.Va. (WVDN) – New River Community and Technical College announces that all high school basketball games in the New River CTC Invitational scheduled for Tuesday, January 7, 2025, have been canceled due to inclement weather.
“We’re in close communication with school officials and local authorities to ensure everyone’s safety,” said Michael Green, Chief of Staff/Vice President for External Affairs, Executive Director of the College Foundation and Tournament Director at New River CTC. “Our top priority is the well-being of our players, coaches, staff, and fans. After careful consideration, we’ve made the decision to cancel for the day. We’re committed to rescheduling as many games as we can once conditions improve.”
Organizers said, “We will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide updates as necessary.
“We appreciate your understanding and patience as we prioritize everyone’s safety during this time.”
