William Alvin Green, 86, of Frankford, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 26, 2016.
He was born April 11, 1930, in Frankford and was the son of Jasper Green Jr. and Vicie Boothe Green.
He graduated from Frankford High School and served the nation in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. Williams was employed at the Bethlehem Steel Mill in Sparrows Point, MD, for 33 years. He was a faithful member of the Enon Baptist Church for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Green Redman, Alline Green Brenneman, Vada Elizabeth Green, and Orbi Della Green; brother, Edward Jasper Green; and brothers-in-law, Richard Brenneman, Gus Redman, and John Runyon.
William is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Crews Green; one sister, Glenna Green Runyon of Hot Springs, VA; two daughters, Virginia Austin and husband, Bob, of Oxford, AL, and Jane Mraz and husband, Joe, of Sykesville, MD; grandchildren, Christina Cockerham, Joanna Austin, Sarah Ealy, Rachel Mraz, Daniel Mraz, and Elisabeth Mraz; and five great-grandchildren, Gabby, Megan, John, Zach, and Ryan.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at the Enon Baptist Church Cemetery at (Vago) Frankford with Pastor Steve Barnette officiating. Casual dress is requested.
