October is a month when millions of Americans don pink in solidarity against a disease that is estimated to impact 1 in 8 women in the United States during their lifetimes. Thankfully, such awareness may be contributing to the climbing survival rates that have been observed since 1989. A local woman, who now represents one of the more than 2.8 million breast cancer survivors in the country, recently shared her story with The West Virginia Daily News.
