Janice “Jewell” Napier, 91, of Fort Spring, WV, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016, at Transitions Hospice in Raleigh, NC.
She was born January 5, 1925, in Greenbrier County, WV, a daughter of Berman and Lona Ingles Humphreys.
Jewell was a homemaker and a member of Sinks Grove Baptist Church in Sinks Grove, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, James T. McDaniel and George Napier; daughter-in-law, Kay McDaniel; two sisters, Ruth Mottesheard and husband, Bill, and Georgie Mottesheard and husband, Charlie; a brother, Mark Humphreys and wife, Roxie; and a niece, Ellen Fowler.
She is survived by a son, James “Tony” McDaniel of Youngsville, NC; granddaughter, Kelly Medlin and husband, Robert, of Roanoke, VA; two great-grandchildren, Gavin Bird and Kayse Medlin, both of Roanoke; and nephews, John Willard Humphreys and wife, Peggy, of Virginia Beach, VA, Willis Humphreys and wife, Carolyn, of Alderson, WV, and Ron Fowler of Fayetteville, NC; and Don Napier of Lewisburg, WV, a nephew of her second husband, George.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Sinks Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Emory Hanna officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 21, from 6-8 PM at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
