Peggy Ann Jarrell Dillon of Ronceverte, WV, died Monday, May 4, 2015, at The Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV, after a long illness.
She was born April 20, 1935, at Colcord, WV, and raised in Ameagle, WV, the only child of the late Jess W. and Evelyn Thompson Jarrell.
She married on October 20, 1953, to Gene T. Dillon for 47 years before his death in 2000. She moved to Cleveland, OH, and later to Brunswick, OH, and back to West Virginia in 1984 to Dorothy and later to Ronceverte.
Peggy was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening. She was a wonderful cook and baker, and her family and friends have many special memories of her hospitality. Peggy loved animals and had many pets, especially dogs. She was of he Baptist faith, currently a member of the Greenbrier Baptist Church. She and her husband were faithful members of the Whitesville Baptist and Sylvester Baptist churches for many years.
Peggy is survived by her sons, Victor Gene Dillon (Elaine) of Lewisburg, WV, and the Rev. Timothy Dillon (Cynthia) of Ronceverte; one granddaughter, Bethany Dillon; four grandsons, Ryan (Olivia), Jonathan (Erin), Sean (Sarah), and Patrick (Ellen) Dillon; two great-grandchildren, Addison Hull and Liam Gene Dillon; and one on the way.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at 11 AM at Blue-Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, WV, with Pastor Tim Dillon officiating.
As requested by Peggy, there will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Greenbrier Baptist Church, P.O. Box 262, Ronceverte, WV 24970.
