Carlton Sturgell, 68, of Frankford, WV, died Monday, April 13, 2015, at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, WV, after a long illness.
Born March 4, 1947, at Frankford, he as the son of the late Bennie and Ethel Blankenship Sturgell.
Mr. Sturgell was of the Baptist faith. He was the retired owner of Suburban Autobody and C&S Hauling. He enjoyed hunting, camping, NASCAR, and his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Donna Bell Walker and Irene Dotson; and brothers, Cecil and Art Sturgell.
He is survived by his wife, Mary “Fannie” Sturgell of Frankford; daughters, Melissa Sturgell-Bostic of Lewisburg, WV, and Carla Sturgell-Lewis (Clint Norris) of Frankford; a son, Buck Stugell of Frankford; a son-in-law, Richard Bostic of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Kenneth Sturgell, Alicia Napier, Joseph Bostic, C.W. Sturgell, Sierra Sturgell, and Calln Norris; great-grandchild, Alden Sturgell; sisters, Betty Boyd of Richmond, VA, Marie Hildebrande of Richmond, Lucille Blankenship of North Carolina, and Cathy Fogus of Fairmont, WV; and brothers, Herman Sturgell of Ronceverte, WV, Darrell Sturgell of Haymarket, VA, and Curtis Sturgell of Old Towne, FL.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 2 PM at McCraw Funeral Home at Frankford with the Rev. Roger Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Friday, April 17, at the funeral home in Frankford.
