Lewisburg, WV (WVDN) – Kendra Stefani-Goeddert Hamilton of Lewisburg, W.V. graduated from WV Wesleyan College at the spring commencement ceremony held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, in Buckhannon, WV. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science with a minor in History, graduating summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA.
While attending WV Wesleyan College, Kendra was a Service Scholar, a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, an intern for the Center of Restorative Justice, and participated in many volunteer activities through Project ISAAC Afterschool Enrichment Program, Appalachian Impact, Free Meals Appalachia, and the WE LEAD- Poverty Reduction Team. Hamilton was awarded the John Warner Sociology Award, the Sullivan Foundation Award, the Brad Long Peace Award, the Outstanding Senior Award in Sociology and the WV Wesleyan Outstanding Senior Award.
Hamilton has been accepted to the University of Chicago’s Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy and Practice and plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Social Work. She will be studying macro and policy oriented social work with the goal of furthering social justice through economic and housing public policy. Before beginning her degree work in the Fall of 2025, Kendra will be serving an AmeriCorps term with the United Way in Clarksburg, WV and completing an oral history project with one of her professors from WV Wesleyan College.
