Darrel E. “Chopper” Lewis, 70, of Manakin Sabot, VA, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015.
He retired after 36 years from Dominion Virginia Power. Darrel was a member and enjoyed attending Skipwith Baptist Church.
Darrel is survived by his wife, Candice Lewis; a son, Edwin Lewis; granddaughter, Sydney Lewis; sisters, Gloria McGuire (Jim) and Brenda Norris (Ronnie); brother, Emerson Williams (Ann); three sisters-in-law, Colleen Lewis, Linda Lewis, and Darlene Lewis; wife’s parents, Randy and Alberta Jones; wife’s brother, James Jones (Jonnelia); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Anna Lewis; four brothers, Earl, Cecil, Hayward, and Frank Lewis; and two sisters, Dorothy Barker and Luva Faulkner.
The family will be receiving visitors at the Bennett Funeral Home, West Chapel, 11020 W. Broad Street, Glen Allen, VA 23060, on Wednesday, February 25, from 5-8 PM.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 26, at 11 AM at the Skipwith Baptist Church, 1602 Skipwith Road, Richmond, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Skipwith Baptist Church in memory of Darrel.
