Louise Highlander, 93, of Fort Spring, WV, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at her home.
Born April 21, 1921, at Alderson, WV, she was the daughter of the late Price and Mary Ball Arbaugh.
Louise was a member of the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church at Fort Spring for over 50 years. She worked at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center until she was 86 years old, at which time she became a personal care provider to the elderly. Louise had a great love for her family, friends, and neighbors.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Highlander.
Survivors include her sons, Ernie R. Highlander and wife, Ruth, and Mitchell Highlander and wife, Kathy; four grandchildren, Trish Bragg and husband, Roger, Jennifer Gibson of Crab Orchard, WV, John Highlander and wife, Jessie, of Fairmont, WV, and Mary Louise Highlander of Winchester, VA; five great-grandchildren, Dustin Bragg, Jack and Megan Gibson, and Garrett and Paige Highlander; a brother, Lloyd Arbaugh of Moses Lake, WA; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are slated for Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 1 PM at the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church at Fort Spring. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens at Lewisburg, WV.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
