Charles “Chuck” Leslie Norvell Jr., 66, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away at the home of his daughter in Crows,VA, on Saturday, January 17, 2015.
Born December 28, 1948, in Clifton Forge, VA, he was a son of the late Charles Leslie Norvell Sr. and Mary Frances Patricia McCrossan Norvell.
Chuck was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in White Sulphur Springs. He was a graduate of Carlisle Military School in Bamberg, SC, in 1967 and also a graduate of West Palm Beach, FL, Culinary School. Chuck loved to play golf, fish, and hunt. He loved watching sports of all kinds. He was a member of the Covington Moose Lodge for over 20 years, a member of the Lions Club for over 30 years, serving as president twice. He and his daughter, Jamie, were co-owners of Mom and Dad’s Place, the former Bone’s Diner in White Sulphur Springs.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Jeannie Norvell Runyon.
Survivors include his caregiver and beloved daughter, Jamie M. Norvell of Crows; two cousins, Roger Kesterson of Lewisburg, WV, and Mike Kesterson of Roanoke, VA; and his ex-wife and best friend, Diane Reynolds of White Sulphur Springs.
Memorial services are scheduled for Sunday, January 25, 2015, at 4 PM at the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs with the Rev. Max Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg.
The family will receive their friends an hour before the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the White Sulphur Springs Lions Club.
