Peggy Marie VanBuren, 81, of Ronceverte, WV, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Ronceverte.
She was born May 22, 1933, at Pickaway, WV, a daughter of the late Robert Ward and Mary Louise Dunbar Rutherford.
Peggy retired from Greenbrier Center and formerly worked at Burlington Mills. She loved babysitting children, which she did for years, lovingly known as “Nonna.” She graduated from
Greenbrier High School in Ronceverte in 1950.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Sue Handley.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Norman VanBuren; daughter, Juanita Stone of Ronceverte; grandchildren, Gabe Stone (Katie), Jason Stone, C.J. Handley (Hillary), and Shelby Handley; great-grandchildren, Jara and Jasmine Stone and Kaden and Myla Stone; and a son-in-law Bill Handley and wife, Susie.
Graveside services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Elizabeth Chapel Cemetery in Organ Cave, WV, with Bro. Roy Massie Jr. and Pastor Jonathan Thomas officiating.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 20, from 6-8 PM at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte.

Pall bearers will be Gabe Stone, Jason Stone, C.J. Handley, Shelby Handley, Bill Handley, and Bill Stone.
