June Geyer Hill of Stuarts Draft, VA, passed away at home on Friday, November 7, 2014.
Born June 2, 1942, at Renick, WV, she as the daughter of the late Russell K. Geyer and Susie Shisler Geyer.
June was retired from the Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville, VA. She served as a volunteer for 25 years with Hospice of Shenandoah and was a member of the Verona United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Russell H. Geyer.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberley D. Hill; special friend, Joe Cangialosi; brothers, Thomas Geyer of Harleysville, PA, and George Geyer of Hudson, FL; sisters, Mary P. Compton of Union, WV, and Betty Penrod and Pat Tomlinson of Lewisburg, WV; and special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service and celebration of June’s life will be held at 11 AM on Monday, November 17, 2014, at the Verona United Methodist Church, 406 Lee Highway, Verona, VA, with the Rev. Bob Weeks officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 AM until time of the service at the church. A reception will be held following the service.
In lieu of flowers and according to her wishes, memorial donations may be made to the Food Pantry of the Verona United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 47, Verona, VA 24482, or Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, 64 Sports Medicine Drive, P.O. Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939.
The family would like to thank all those who helped with her care and to others who have shown many acts of kindness.
