Ninety-six years ago, on the 11th hour of the 11th day or the 11th month, an armistice between the Allied nations and Germany marked for many an end to “the war to end all wars.” A year later, in 1919, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed November 11 as Armistice Day to remember those who had given their lives in service to the nation.
