Virginia Lee Hinkle Terry Thompson, 93, of Ronceverte, WV, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Ronceverte.
She was born March 25, 1921, in Greenbrier County, WV, a daughter of the late William Edward Hinkle and Rebecca Virginia Hayes Hinkle.
Virginia was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ronceverte Christian Church and the Red Hat Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Thompson Jr. on February 7, 2003; a son, Montie Terry; one stepdaughter, Gertrude Nelson; sisters, Ethel Falls, Emma Moody, Betty Bonnell, and Maddie Hinkle; and a brother, Estill Hinkle.
She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Turner (Rob) of Ronceverte and Patricia Griffith (Mike) of Troy, OH; two stepsons, Grover Thompson (Emily) of Ronceverte and Billy Thompson (Carolyn) of Lenoir, NC; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Thursday, October 23, 2014, at the Ronceverte Christian Church on Gypsy Heights Road with Pastor Jonathan Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Memorial cemetery in Clintonville, WV.
Visitation will be on Thursday at the church from 1 PM until time of the service.
The family would like to invite all friends to join them for a meal following the burial at the church.
Family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy be made to the Ronceverte Christian Church Building Fund, 240 Gypsy Heights Road, Ronceverte, WV 24970.
