Rosetta W. Anderson, 83, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away Thursday morning, October 2, 2014, at The Brier Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Ronceverte, WV.
Born December 20, 1930, in Tucker County, WV, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Virgie Wilfong White.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Methodist Women of the Church, was a lay leader for her church, and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a retired Greenbrier County school teacher and was a past president of the Pearl S. Buck Society in Hillsboro, WV. Rose, as she was known, was also president of the local AARP in Lewisburg, WV, and a member of the White Sulphur Springs Women’s Club. She always thought of someone else before herself, especially her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Ron White.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Emory Anderson at home; four sons, Rodney Carl Anderson, Randy Dirk Anderson, and Walter Lake Anderson, all of White Sulphur Springs, and Brian Matthew Anderson (Lori Lobban Anderson) of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Jordan, Mallori, Levi, and Alec Anderson, all of whom were the apple of her eye; and one sister, Betty White of Spencer, WV.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 5, 2014, at 2:30 PM at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in White Sulphur Springs with the Rev. Joe Geiger officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery in Marlinton, WV.
Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Saturday, October 4, at Shanklin Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
